A family of three died this week after a large tree fell on their car in the middle of heavy rain and lightning floods in Tennessee, says officials.
Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management Talesman Amy Maxwell said the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday, August 13 in Chattanooga suburb to East Ridge, according to Associated Press. The deaths were also confirmed by BBC.
A mother, father and child died when the watering soil caused the tree to fall on their vehicle, the AP reported. A fourth body was also found in a separate incident.
More information about the victims were not directly available.
The first respondents spent the night conducting rescue operations throughout the county, which was flooded with severe rain from Tuesday, August 12, according to Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management (HCOEM).

However, the flood threat is not over.
National Weather Service has said “Located heavy rain and possible Flash flood” can continue through Wednesday evening over East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Southwest North Carolina, according to Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
