Families with 3 women who are dead in Belize speak out after the cause of death is confirmed

The condition of the family


The authorities had conducted a second test of the hotel room for carbon monoxide poisoning after the first test showed no signs, said Belize Police Commissioner Chester Williams on Wednesday, March 19, Per a clip shared by 7 News Belize.

Williams said earlier at a Monday February 24 News conference that “alcohol and some rubber”, the latter contained THC, had been found at the site, Per Channel 5 Belize.

The condition of the family


The families of the deceased published a joint statement on Wednesday to people and other stores.

“While remaining crushed by the loss of these three bright lights in our world, we are extremely heard by the results of this investigation and grateful for those who completed it in a thorough and independent way,” they said.

They confirmed that they are waiting for the results of a separate independent review to be conducted by the Massachusetts authorities: “We have said since the beginning of this investigation that their deaths were suspected and raised concerns about the first reports in the news media.”

“While today’s official finding makes it rest for the first reports, we hope that this will give the authorities in law enforcement break before making similar proposals during future investigations,” the families said.

“Survivors that our families deserve their best, honest work. We got it today but needed it throughout this research process,” reads their statement.

The families also asked the Belize authorities to continue their investigative work, to find answers for their families and others who were injured in the hotel.

The families thanked local and international media, as well as Massachusetts, USA and Belize leaders “who continued to put pressure on Belizean authorities to conduct this investigation in a quick and honest way.”

“Our families remain extremely grateful for the outflow of support we have received from family, friends, leaders and loved ones since their passing. We appreciate the integrity that has been expanded to our families when we mourn,” said women’s loved ones.

“Our families ask for continued prayers, patience and integrity as we navigate in this unthinkable loss. May their beautiful souls rest in eternal peace. We will always love and miss you, Kaoutar, Iman and Wafae,” ended their statement.

In a separate statement, Royal Kahal Beach Resort sent their condolences to the families to the killed women and added, “from the time that this isolated tragedy was discovered, we have taken all possible measures to ensure that the resort is safe and it has been reopened to the guests since March 19.”

“We have worked with the Belizian government, and the authorities have carried out several careful assessments of each unit on the property,” said the resort. “These assessments have found no further indication at dangerous carbon monoxide levels in any of the units. This tragedy has deeply affected us all at Royal Kahal Beach Resort.”
