Ex-spouse kills beloved mom-of-3 in suicide

A teenager in Florida came home early in the morning hours on Monday March 31 to discover his mother dead from a deadly gunshot wound on her head.

Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said at a press conference that Samuel Vaia killed her ex, 38-year-old Ashley Vaia, by shooting her in the head.

Samuel later took his own life after having leading authorities on a Chase Chase, said Sheriff Michael Chitwood from VCSO.

The police also revealed that Samuel had been arrested a week earlier after attacking Ashley in his home.

“During last Sunday’s incident, Ashley told alternates that Samuel took hold of her, drove her into a bathroom, closed the door and continued to accuse her of infidelity. She said she was trying to scream on her phone to call 911 but did not succeed, and Samuel covered her mouth,” said Chitwood.

Ashley became even more scared when she noticed that Samuel had a gun on him, the police said.

The daughter who later discovered Ashley’s body rushed in to save his mother from Samuel as he fled the scene, according to the authorities.

Body Camera pictures taken at night show that the police confiscated a weapon that Samuel had dropped into the waist.

“Depressed Samuel arrested a fee of the battery, and he was booked into the Volusia County Branch prison early on Sunday morning. He later published $ 2,000 bonds and released Monday evening,” VCSO said in one statement.

Samuel had been ordered to reverse all firearms after the incident; Chitwood said he returned three in the days after his arrest, but held at least one.

After identifying Samuel as a suspect, the police used stoppennations to prevent his car from continuing to lead the police on a high -speed hunt, according to VCSO.

He was then extracted from the vehicle by a SWAT team after drones were used to assess the situation, according to police.

When the police removed Samuel, he was rushed to the hospital where he later died after suffering injuries including “an obvious self -destroying gunshot injury,” police said.

Chitwood spoke the victim’s children and said: “Our hearts go out to Ashley’s children, and all her family and friends who have to deal with her for such meaningless act of violence. Time and time again, we see that situations in the home can escalate quickly and dangerously, with tragic consequences.”
