“I don’t know exactly what has changed as far as the treatment goes,” Schafer continued. “This is the first time this has happened to me since I changed my gender marker, we are coming up for a decade now. I think it is a direct result of the administration that our country is currently working.”

Schafer told her followers that she is “scared” of how these types of policies will be implemented. “It’s a lot of talk and then these things start to happen and we begin to normalize the circumstances we are under. I just feel that it is important to share that it is not just talk, this is real and it happens.”

“I don’t give an F — that they put an M on my pass,” Schafer added. “It doesn’t change anything about me or my transness. But it makes life a little more difficult.”
