The surviving passengers in a deadly car wreck talk about the last moments before a crash that killed his friend and partner.
Charlie Hilton, 25, drove a group of friends while he was full and tailored by the police when he beat a tree, causing the car to turn and burst into flames, according to London Evening Standard.
Lillie Clack, 21, died of her injuries shortly after the crash, which happened early in the morning on Christmas Day 2021.
A group of friends had been out in London’s West End when Hilton offered them a ride home, Standard reported. Delia Casey Red in the passenger seat and was one of six people in the car.
During a criminal court investigation, she recalled the driver’s speed and chaos inside the vehicle, but said she does not remember what happened after the crash since she hit her head, per Standard.
“Everyone called inside the car,” she said according to the outlet. “It happened a lot and I just felt afraid of everyone in the car.”
“The speed we went on made me feel terrified. It happened everything in what seemed like a few seconds,” Casey continued. “It feels like a blur. Even after I visited Lily’s tree (established in her honor) I still have no memory of the accident.”
Lillie’s boyfriend, Jack Watson, said he asked to be released out of the car with her, but Hilton told him alleged to shut up, according to Daily mail.
“I think I may have said” Charlie what are you doing, why are you going so fast? “I think the girls were in shock,” Watson said, leaving, “it just felt uncertain.”

“I remember I asked” where is Lillie? “I remember I was in an ambulance and blood on my jacket but I don’t know where the blood came from,” Watson said, Daily mail reported.
A police officer said he drove about 90 km / h as he followed Hilton, who “got away”, according to the outlet.
Lillie’s mother, Debbie, remembers her daughter as popular and hard working, spent the young woman was her “pride and joy” and reminds how Clack used to dress out as different Disney princess for children’s parties as a teenager, according to it Standard.
Hilton later relied on dangerous driving and other accusations that led to Clack’s death and was sentenced to ten years and six months in prison in 2023.
