Domhnall Gleeson shoots down comparisons between ‘The Paper’ and ‘The Office’ (exclusively)

On AMC Lincoln Square, New York screening of Echo DalGleeson, 42, spoke exclusively to people about his role as down in The paper, which is scheduled to be released in September at Peacock.

The essay is a documentary in a documentary about a dying Midwestern newspaper’s reporters and its publishers’ attempts to revive it. Mockumentary, created by Office Showrunner Greg Daniels, is a spinoff of the latter series, which went from 2005 to 2013 at NBC.

“I don’t think my characters like Michael Scott on Ali,” Harry Potter Star reflected when asked about the comparisons between Michael Scott, the unhappy but-loving manager Steve Carell played on Office, to his character in The essay.

“I think if you are trying to compete with what Steve did or with what Ricky Gervais did, I think it would be a massive mistake,” says Gleeson, referring to Carell and Gervais, the star of the original UK Office series. “They are geniuses that are incredible in lots of different ways. We created a whole new character. And it’s a whole new type of set, but I hope people will find a reason to love him too, just in a different way than they did the guys before.”

Gleeson, who comes from a long line of actors, also revealed to people the advice he has received over the years. His father is a colleague Harry Potter Alun Brendan Gleeson and his younger brother are Topblinds Actor Brian Gleeson.

“They are fantastic people, but also my mother, who is not in the industry, my two other brothers who are not involved in acting, we all support each other and offer advice if it is all the time requested, but no, it is more about support,” he explains. “I’m lucky to be part of a family that takes care of each other. And so yes, no, never without asking, but they are good people to turn to in a crisis too.”

Last month, Gleeson also revealed the advice he received from The office Star John Krasinski When it comes to spinoff. “He was wonderful. I mean, his great advice he gave me was to do it,” the Irish actor said exclusively to people at that time. Krasinski, 45, depicted Jim Halpert in TV -Sitcom.

Except The essayGleeson also records Echo Dal. The Apple TV+ program, which premieres June 13, focuses on a struggling mother, Kate (Julianne Moore), who makes efforts to unite with her troubled daughter Claire (Sydney Sweeney). Things take a trip to the worse when Claire arrives at Kate’s door covered with blood.

“It was a very complicated character that has a very distinct effect on the people in the movie. He preys on vulnerable people, and he is looking for every opportunity. And so it was nice to play someone who is just a manipulator and then find the man behind it. So I really liked it,” explains Gleson to people about his role as Jackie in Echo Dal.
