After a long wait, “Princess” Louise has found her forever home and 4-year-old Terrier mix Has gone viral on social media during the process.
In one Instagram -video It has attracted more than one million likes since June 22, staff and volunteers at RG Cares Animal Shelter in New York can be seen cheering and divide away dog to her new “person”.
“How she took one last look back 🥹”, wrote @rachels.dogs and @fourlegoodnynj in the caption for their joint post. “Two weeks ago, the perfect applicant joined for our longest shelter, Louise. After a few meetings we knew this was her forever.”
“Louise’s person finally found her. 640 days of this princess waiting patiently, finally all paid,” they continued in the caption. “Go and get it, Louise. You waited long enough, honey!”
In the video – sound traced by Good neighbors ‘home’ -A tearsful employee, Louise goes out of the shelter and passes other emotional employees before handing over the tailing dog to their “person”.
When the individual goes to the animal to the back seat in his car, Louise turns his head and gives a final look at the people who took care of her for 640 days.
“Seeing her is overlooked so many times, and then getting viral for the world to see gives me so much hope for all the guard dogs around the country that only needs one person to bring them,” says Rachel Oldenburger, the adoption and the fetal coordinator on four legs who are good at Rockland Green Cares Animal Shelter in Pomona.
“Shelter Dogs are fantastic dogs, and I hope Louise’s story even inspires and with just one person to go adopt a local guard dog,” adds Oldenburger, 37.
The viral videos captions also emphasized the importance of pet adoption.
“Our staff patted her to celebrate this huge win for Louise, but also to keep the hope alive as their people come,” the caption said. “We must continue to show up for them, but their people will eventually come.”
