The body of a daughter who disappeared with her father after they went on an Appalachian Trail walk together has been found.
Esther Keiderling, 28, and her father Tim, 58 were declared missing Tuesday, June 3. Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Said that the couple was last seen around 10:15 local time on Sunday, June 1st, when they left Abol Campground to hike Katahdin.
A few hours later on June 3, the authorities announced in a statement That a Maine Warden Service K9 -Säppam found Tim’s body near the top of the mountain, but that his daughter remained missing.
The next day they updated the statement with a gloomy announcement that the applicants had found Esther’s body.
“It is with deep regrets that we share the news that today, about 13:00 (June 4), discovered the search for Esther Keiderling’s body from Esther Keiderling from the tables, in a wooded area between two known tracks,” wrote the authorities and shared the additional details would be provided later, after seekers returned to the base.
The father and daughter were both from Ulster Park, new, according to the authorities.
Baxter State Park Rangers launched a search for Keiderlings after their car was still found parked at Trailhead in the morning Monday 2 June.

Baxter State Park Website Describes the Katahdin Trail as a “very strenuous climb, no matter which trailhead you choose”, noting that it can take an average of eight to 12 hours to raise round trip.

In addition to Rangers, the search was expanded to include other rescue personnel such as game guards, K9 teams, helicopters from the Maine Forest Service and Maine Association of Search and Rescue Volunteers.
“Maine Army National Guard and their helicopters also helped with transport of viewfinder and searching tracks, streams and the tables from the air,” said officials.
