Dale Earnhardt Jr. Opens himself about his difficult relationship with his legendary father for a new documentation.

The new four -part series Earnhardt, Premature May 22 on Prime Video, includes interviews with Dale Jr. and his sister Kelley Earnhardt Miller who gives viewers a closer look at the legacy of their late father, Dale Earnhardt Sr.And People has the exclusive premiere on the trailer.

“I admired everything about my dad,” says Dale Jr. in the trailer as pictures of his father on the race track and in interviews is shown. “I admired how dedicated he was for competition,” continues the younger Earnhardt.

When pictures of Dale Jr.’s first win appear, the racing reminds his father’s reaction and shared, “he looked at me as if he had never looked at me before.”

Kelley, the CEO of Jr Motorsports, who together owns with her brother, is also shown in the trailer when she tells the viewers that her family has competed in the blood. “We do it because we don’t know better,” she says. “This is what we do.”

The trailer concludes with old interview movies by Dale SR was asked why he would like to “do something that you know that Darn could kill you”, with reference to racing, as the legendary driver, who died in 2001, said: “I never wanted to do anything else.”

Speed Focuses on Dale Sr.’s inheritance and how it affected complex family dynamics when the family all continued the racing business. The series is produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazers Imagine and directed by Dan Lindsay and Tj Martin.

Prime Video will release the first two episodes on May 22 and the last two on May 29th.
