Couples had to sit next to dead body on the plane after the woman died



An Australian couple has been left “heartbroken” after they were forced to sit next to the body by a passenger who died halfway through their flight.

Mitchell Ring and Jennifer Colin traveled on a Qatar Airways flight from Melbourne to Venice, Italy when a woman on board “collapsed” and died, they said during an interview on the Australian news program A current deal.

“(That) was pretty heartbreaking to watch,” Call on A current deal. “They went to try to move her, they took down this chair … and tried to roll her up to business class, but she was a pretty big lady, and they couldn’t get her through the hallway.”

The couple told the outlet that the flight crew members then placed the woman’s body in a vacant place next to the couple.

“They said,“ Can you move over please? “And I just said: ‘Yes no problem,’ ‘called the ring to A current deal. “Then they placed the lady in the chair I was in.”

The couple claims that the cabin crew told them that they must remain in their places next to the body during the four hours left of the flight.

“There were some extra places I could see around us. I can’t believe they told us to stay … It wasn’t nice,” Ring continued.

The couple says they have not received any duty of care or offer of advice after the flight.

“They have a duty to care for their customers as well as their staff, we should be contacted to make sure, you need some support, you need some advice,” Ring to A current deal. “I don’t really know how I feel and would like to talk to someone to make sure I’m okay.”

Colin spoke with the program from their vacation in Venice and said, “I try to make the best of a pretty difficult situation, but you know, we are on vacation so we really try to have a good time.”

The couple booked their flight through Australian airline Qantas, They noted on A current deal.

A spokesman for Qantas told People: “The process of managing incidents aboard an aircraft such as this is handled by the operational airline, which in this case is Qatar Airways.”

The company said “Colin made us aware of the event on a Qatar Airways flight via E -post on Saturday afternoon (February 22).” They added that they are in contact with the couple and have followed up with Qatar Airways.

People have reached Qatar Airways for comments but did not get an answer immediately.
