Cooper Hoffman Stars in Brutal Trailer for Stephen King’s ‘The Long Walk’

Cooper HoffmanThe David Jonsson and more set foot on a fatal competition in The long walk.

Wednesday, May 7, Lionsgate released the first trailer for The long walkan adaptation of Stephen King1979 novelWho follows a group of 100 teenage boys who participate in the title competition and have to walk 3 miles per hour without stopping until only one participant remains.

The trailer sees Hoffman’s character Ray Garraty meets other competition participants such as McVries (Jonsson, 31) as they prepare to start at the competition, which is monitored by a TV camera crew and a group of soldiers led by a character known as Major (Mark Hamill.)

When a participant falls after and cannot come back, he only gets three quick warnings before a soldier shoots and kills him.

A synopsis describes The long walk As “an intense, cooling and emotional thriller that challenges the audience to confront a haunting question: How far can you go?”

The new royal pass is directed by Francis Lawrencethat is best known for Helming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire And the franchise three subsequent moviesas well as its upcoming 2026 post Sunrise at the harvest. JT Mollner (Weird darling) Adapted the novel for the large screen.

A synopsis For King’s 1979 novel, which he wrote while he was in college in the 1960s, reads something similar to a Hunger Games Roman: “In the near future, where America has become a police state, a hundred boys are chosen to participate in an annual competition where the winner will be assigned what he wants for the rest of his life.”

The long walkThe role includes Ben Wang (Karate Kid: Legends) and Charlie PlummerGarrett Wareing, Tut Nyuot, Roman Griffin DavisJordan Gonzalez, Joshua Odjick, Josh Hamilton and Judy Greer. The film marks the second of Hamills Back-to-Back screen projects based on King’s novels after Chuck’s lifeWhich is out June 6th.

The long walk Is in theaters September 12.
