Colorado student Megan Trussell’s body was identified after disappearance



The authorities have now confirmed missing college student Megan Trussell was found dead last week in a remote area outside Boulder, Colo., days after she was last seen alive in her dormitory.

Bolder County Coroner’s Office said in a brief statement on Tuesday, February 18 that Trussell’s body had been positively identified. She was found three days earlier.

In their own update, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said they will investigate and a final cause of death is still pending the decision of the coron.

But “based on our joint investigation so far, we do not believe that there is or was a threat to society,” Sheriffen’s office said.

Trussell, 18, was first reported missing on Wednesday, February 12 and was last seen in her residential hall on February 9, according to the University of Colorado Boulder.

On Saturday, February 15, both the school police and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said that a body that matched her description in “hard -to -reach terrain” outside the city, “which required a technical evacuation, including the need for rappel.”

On Monday 17 February, her parents and other loved ones gathered near where her body had been found for a memorial.

“The outflow of love and support has just been overwhelming,” said Dad Joe Trussell, Denver Post reported. “We appreciate you more than you know.”

“It’s a terrible thing that has happened,” he said, “but the best way we can honor her is to be better, to find out what happened.”

A movie lover, according to the family, Megan, a beginner, had dreamed of filmmaking, Post reported.

“We just sit around the table talking about Megan and the memories we have about her,” said Cousin Rebecca Perez at Monday’s ceremony. “We will have sprints of crying but more so we’re just talking about how fun she was.”

A Gofundme Originally launched to help search for Megan, and now to raise money in her honor and to support her family, have withdrawn more than $ 45,000 in donations.

In a previous message to the school community, the University’s officials mourned Megan’s death.

“We understand that this news is devastating for members of our campus community, and we also understand that you can have many more questions about the details about the announcement from Sheriff’s Office,” Chancellor Justin Schwartz and D’Ather Mull, a principal, said.
