A high school day was transformed into a massive noise in Jones Beach State Park in New York on Tuesday, June 3, which received a quick response from several law enforcement authorities.
According to a statement obtained by people from the New York State Parks, the incident around the central shopping center occurred in the popular Long Island Beach destination. The large group, which consists of students from several colleges, began to arrive at about 15 local time, and within a few hours the police were called because of the growing size of the collection and early reports on physical changes.
The first report came around 18:22 New York State Park Police first responded to the scene, followed by Nassau County Police, with the support of a Nassau County Aviation unit when the battle masses grew in size.
“It was completely crazy,” shared a spectator exclusively with people who saw the scene develops with his wife. “We walked along the boardwalk and you could see the fights on the beach. It was an S — show.”
The spectator noted to see “Nassau County Police Helicopters, Ambulaces, several Nassau County Police Cars and several park police cars”, along with a News 5 helicopter.
A Dramatic video circulating on social media showed a police helicopter that floats lay over the beach and kicked up sand as people spread against the boardwalk. According to the New York State Parks representative, law enforcement agencies spread the audience at 20:30
In the wake of the incident, New York State Parks says that there will be further staffing around the area to prevent similar situations from happening this weekend and potentially during the summer’s duration.
“The police will have additional patrols on both Jones Beach and Robert Moses State Parks today. There will be an increase in New York State Park Rangers as well,” read the statement. “These agencies also monitor all social media to ensure that if an untrue event is found, an appropriate law enforcement response will occur.”
Officials reminded the public in the statement, “All major gatherings require permission to take place on the beach.”
