A woman sues American Airlines and claims that an airman dismissed her and told her “men only do things” after a male passenger sitting next to her in the first class began to masturbate during an eight -hour flight to Milan.

Neel Elsherif, CEO of several companies, including Vegan Leather Brand Mela, submitted a complaint against American Airlines in the US District Court’s Eastern District in New York on March 21 and accused the company of carelessness, discrimination and deliberate supply of emotional distress.

In the complaint, obtained by humans, Elsheriff claims that she was “hit by a disturbing and traumatic experience” during her premium economy flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to Milan in May 2024, when a “drunk, Caucasian male passenger sitting next to her brave mastic sitting next to her brave mastic ”

“American strives to provide a positive experience to everyone traveling with us. We review the charges of the complaint,” the airline told People in a statement.

Lawyers for Elsherif claim that the flight host’s comment suggested that “as a woman (Elsherif) was expected to endure such a grotesque misunderstanding and (reinforced) the pernique and illegal stereotype that women must tolerate male predation as a fact in life.”

The complaint also claims that Elsherif’s alleged bad treatment from the air hostess was a race, because she is of Arabic and the Middle East origin, and both the flight value and the man – only called “John Doe” – are white.

“Air hostess gave John Doe’s preferential treatment over (her) and treated John Does Security, Comfort and Comfort even more important than (hers), because John Doe is a white male,” claims the complaint.

According to the complaint, the man was served several glasses of champagne during the first hour of the flight, and Elsherif noticed that he rubbed his pants shortly after the lights fogged and she was preparing to sleep.

“Before (she) fell asleep, she noticed that John Doe was holding his groin and rubbing his genitals over his pants; when this rubbing did not end, but instead intensified, realized (Elsherif) that John Doe masturbated next to her,” says the complaint. “Stunned, the plaintiff froze in her seat and began to panic; she felt extremely uncomfortable and helpless.”

According to the complaint, Elsherif tried to stare straight forward and hoped that one of the air hosts would notice and intervene, but the alleged incident continued for a whole hour. Elsherif then stood up and talked to an air host to report the alleged incident after the man had stopped masturbating.

The CEO claims that the flight attendant dismissed her and told her “men only do things like it”, with reference to masturbation, and that the careful husband did “things like that.”

“The flight value stated that there was no” nothing that (she) can do “except to move (her) place to another place in the coach,” the complaint claims. Elsherif also asked the attendant to move the man’s seat to the coach because she had paid more than $ 3,000 for her place, but she claims the flight value refused.

She also claims in the complaint that she moved to a place in coach and later observed the flight attendant who served John Doe More Champagne and “engaging in Joviala, friendly interactions” with him.

When she reported the alleged sexual abuse to the gate staff at both Milan Malpensa Airport and back in New York City, Elsherif was also told to “call the 1-800 issue.”
