The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Services warns soup lovers.
On Friday, April 11, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued Food Safety and Inspection Services (FSIS) a public health warning due to at least 13 products over six soup marks that were potentially contaminated with foreign materials.

“FSIS is worried that any product may be in consumers’ and institutional refrigerators or freezers,” reads the warning and gives advice to consumers and institutions that bought contaminated foods so as not to consume or serve the products. The products must be disposed of or returned to the place of purchase.
A spokesman for Campbells said in a statement obtained by people, “The soups included in the health care are not sold in stores in cans or bowls. They are food service varieties sold at restaurants and other institutions.”
“The soups are distributed frozen via food service channels,” the statement continued. “USDA noted that they were sent to the retail trade (in this case refer to a restaurant) or institutional locations.”
The polluted inventory was sent to retail sites and institutions in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio, but FSIS notes that expect other products to be added to the list, which “can lead to nationwide effects.”
