When they were evacuated from the devastation at Camp Mystic, a Christian girl’s camp embedded in Texas Hill Country, a bus load of young campers gathered in vocals.
On Friday, July 4, the water rose in the Guadalupe river rapidly and the camp met deadly floods that ravaged central Texas and claimed the lives of several girls and their advisers during the annual summer retreat, PEOPLE previously reported.
In a video taken Friday by Camp Mystic Nurse Devon Paige Williams and shared with CNNThe campers can be heard singing a worship song when driven past drug trees and emergency workers. On their way to safety, the girls seemed to break into a reproduction of “pass it on”, which according to the outlet is a classic among the participants.
“I’ll scream it from the mountain peak, I want my world to know, the Lord of Love has come to me, I want to forward it,” they sang in harmony.
On Monday, Camp Mystic shared a statement that sorded the lives that had been lost.

“Our hearts are broken together with our families who hold out this unthinkable tragedy. We constantly pray for them,” wrote a camp mystical representative at the camp Website. “We have been in communication with local and state authorities that tirelessly use extensive resources to search for our missing girls.”
“I have to tell my community and the families waiting – this will be a tough week,” said Kerrville, Texas, Mayor Joe Herring on Monday, leaving: “We need your prayers.”
Ten campers and an advisor are still not reported while the search efforts continue from Monday, July 7, the authorities said at a news conference. Later that day, the authorities in Kerr County, where the camp is located, said that 84 bodies have been found, giving the total death to over 100, according to Associated Press.
