Brittany Cartwright Learn to put yourself first.
In an exclusive conversation with people at 2025 iHeartradio Music Awards, Valley star, 36, opened about how she has done in the middle of her divorce from Jax Taylor And the difficulties she met.
“I try,” admitted Cartwright. “It has been difficult to share everything, but I also felt that it was so necessary because if I can help any woman to leave a toxic relationship, then I am so proud of myself because I could do it and show it and how there is another page.”
When it comes to the important lessons she has learned, the reality star said that the experience has helped her to realize “how strong I was, because I never thought I was very strong.”

“My trust is so much better. I lost my spark for a long time and I feel I really got it back,” she added.
“I still have a way to go. I still work with myself and still work with myself,” she said. “But I feel that I realized how strong I was and I am so proud of myself.”
Earlier this month, Taylor revealed that he was an “addict” and admitted that he had “substance abuse problems – mainly with cocaine” which he has struggled “on and on since I was 23” on Bravos Hot microphone Podcast.

After the episode dropped, Cartwright shared an exclusive statement with people, where she said she was “glad he finally acknowledged what was really going on. ”
“For the first time, I can talk openly about the extent of trauma that he sets on our family over the years,” she wrote. “I have tried desperately to help him without success. I pray that one day he completely beats this addiction, but I am skeptical. His behavior is still worrying and his treatment plan seems to be the least.”
She continued, “I try to navigate in this as good as I can for my son and I, but every day is still a challenge and very difficult. Jax has caused a huge amount of injury and I have very little confidence in him at this time. My only hope is that one day he will be a better person for his son.”
Almost six months after Cartwright announced that she and Taylor “took time from each other”, Kentucky left for divorce in August 2024, according to court documents obtained by people.

In September 2024, Cartwright told People that she held on to “Hope” that the couple would prepare things during their separation before applying for divorce.
“I think it has been very obvious that I loved him and how hard I was trying to work with our relationship,” she explained. “I wanted to make sure I did every single thing that I could possibly do to give it a chance and to try for my family, for my son, for my future, but I couldn’t do it anymore.
