Costa Rica officials have released the body of 14-year-old Miller Gardner-son to the former New York Yankees player Brett Gardner-to his family.

According to New York PostCosta Rica Judicial Investigation Police confirmed that Miller’s body was released to its parents on Wednesday, March 26, after his sudden death while the family was on vacation At Arena’s del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort.

The former MLB player, along with His wife Jessicaannounced the death of their teenage son in a statement about x on March 23.

“With heavy hearts, we are sorry to announce that our youngest son, Miller.

“We have so many questions and so few answers at this time, but we know he died peacefully in sleep on the morning of Friday 21 March,” they continued.

“Miller was a beloved son and brother and we can’t yet understand our life without his infectious smile,” wrote Brett and Jessica. “He loved football, baseball, golf, hunting, fishing, his family and his friends. He lived life fully every day.”

The parents added that they were “so grateful” to everyone who had extended and thought of Miller’s teammates and friends “as well as to all other families who have lost a child far too soon when we share their grief.”

Miller, his parents and his brother Hunter had been on vacation on the Costa Rico resort when the teenager fell ill and died. A cause of death is not yet known, but an official previously confirmed to people that they had excluded suffocation.

Samples have been sent to histology, toxicology and neuropathology laboratories for further testing, and the results are expected in two to three months, says the official. The case is still handled as a death during investigation.

A number of Brett’s MLB players have gathered around the family in the wake of Miller’s death.
