Boxing legend and former world champion Ricky Hatton have died. He was 46.
The athlete was found dead on Sunday, September 14 in England. Larger Manchester police said in a statement That they received a call at 06:45 local time, and when they arrived on the stage “they found the body of a 46-year-old man.”
“There are currently not believed to be any suspected circumstances,” the police said, leaving that Hatton’s body since “has been referred to the coron.” An official cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Manchester City confirmed Hatton’s death in a tributecalls him “one of the city’s most loved and revered supporters.”
“He will always remember,” the league continued. “Everyone at the club would like to send our heartfelt condolences to their family and friends at this difficult time.”
According to Manchester City, there will be a tribute to Hatton at the coming September 14 match.

Hatton, also known as “The Hitman”, won 45 of his 48 fights during his 15 years as a professional boxer from 1997 and 2012. He took a break from 2009 to 2012 after losing in a match against Manny Pacquiao.
The boxer returned to the ring in 2012 and lost quickly against Vyacheslav Senchenko, after which he announced his pension.
Hatton remained retired until it was announced earlier this year in July, Per The IndependentThat he would compete against Eisa Al Dah on December 2.
The boxer was taken into the International Boxing Hall of Fame 2024, according to ESPN.
Hatton was the father of three children: Millie, Fearne and Campbell. He also had a grandson, Lyla.
Over the years, the boxer opened his struggles with his mental health and abuse. “It inspired many people, you know, for me to get into shape again at the age I am at. Especially considering all my problems that I have had personally with mental health and such,” he said recently in an interview with The sun.
As for his expected comeback, he said to the outlet, “It makes me feel so proud that I was so loved and that people get worried when they belong to me who make a comeback. But I’m not as daily as I look. I know what fights are beyond me, I know what fights are stupid for me.

Tributes have poured for Hatton after his death. Conor McGregor shared A photo of itself and the late boxer with the caption, “Rest in Fred Ricky Hatton!”
Previous professional boxer Amir Khan wrote Alongside their own tribute, “Today we not only lost one of Britain’s biggest boxers, but a friend, a mentor, a warrior, Ricky Hatton. Who is fighting, we say ourselves that we are strong – we train, we sweat, we take hits, we have to do it. But sometimes we have to.
“Ricky, thank you for everything. For your fights, your moments of honor, your gravel. Thank you for pressing us and showing us what is possible,” he added.

Pacquiao, 46, Demnicated Hatton as “not only a big fighter inside the ring but also a brave and friendly man in life.”
