Warning: This story contains spoilers from the Season 29 final of Bachelor.
Giving Ellis Found love during Monday’s Bachelor FinalBut only one woman got a suggestion: Juliana moves. As a result it was venture capitalist Lithia Garr Who left as Season 29 runners.
Lithia, 31, got a “I Love You” from Grant, 31, during their Fantasy Suite date in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic, but he says his heart in the end belonged to Juliana, 28.
“It was the most difficult, but in the end it was the best for Lithia,” the former professional basketball player tells People in this week’s number in a joint interview with Juliana. “For me to be in a relationship where someone might love me, but I don’t get what I want or how I need, it would be unfair to that person.”
In the final on March 24, Litia acknowledged her feelings for Grant and said she was in love with him. She also told him that she saw herself a family with her one day.

But Grant had to break the news that he would go in a different direction and said to her: “I love you very much, I want to give you everything you deserve but I’m not your person. And I’m sorry it came to this point. My emotional connection is stronger someone else.”
Lithia said she was “disappointed” by the news and snapped back to Grant: “You are different than I thought.”
Given the difficult moment, Grant admits that it was “difficult” to let Lithia down – and the pressure to do so led to him “feeling broken” right up to the end.
“You meet someone’s family, you spend time with someone, you hear their story and then you have to tell them what should be the biggest day in their lives that they are not your person,” he explains. “That’s what made me have some stress, some confusion about how to do this.”

“I do not feel that I am mislead – I feel that I was led with my heart,” puts Grant to express their feelings for Lithia earlier in the season. “I feel it would be misleading if I made promises, but I expressed my feelings, which I do every day. I have been in these shoes, so I know where she comes from and I always come from a place with compassion.”
“I definitely cared, and I definitely had these feelings, but in the end Juliana is my person,” he says. “Sometimes the hardest things come out with the best reward.”

Juliana was always aware of Grant’s connection to Lithia and knew there was a chance she would not be chosen.
“I felt so strong, but I was also aware that it was another girl involved,” she says about the process. “She has to feel as safe as I do to stay for so long. It was nervousness from my end, but I also felt so sure I was, it’s a 50-50 chance here.”

Look at the show revealed to the client services that contributions and Lithia had an “undeniable” connection, but that it differed from her own.
“Lithia is such an amazing person – I think it only comes to what kind of life you wanted to live afterwards,” explains Juliana. “I know that Lithia’s time frame to settle down is different from mine was, but it’s a comparison-by-circuit. It doesn’t take away from me, and I hope it doesn’t take anything away from her.”
“I can understand that there is love there for her and love there for me, but I think there are only two different types of love,” she adds.
Grant promises that he “gave this trip everything I could” and could not be happier with his final decision.
“This relationship is something that is for me, and in the end it led to my decision and my clarity,” he says about his experience on the show. “When you are Bachelor’s degree, And more extensive when you are the other black Bachelor Ever there are any mitigating circumstances that play a role. ”
“I did what made me happy, not what would make someone else happy, not what would make my dad happy or my mom happy, or my sister or my aunt, someone,” he adds. “I did what would do me Happy.”
“You just needed some time to get there,” Juliana clocks in, because Grant confirms that he “just needed some time to get there.”
