You know something that is not “young & stupid?” People’s exclusive appearance behind the scenes on the pop-rock hymn Sung of Avril Lavigne and Simple plan.
Lavigne shared intimate photos from filming with humans and wrote captions for each to give the fans an insight into the creation of The music video For the track, which is out now.
In a statement shared with people, the “girlfriend” said hitmaker that the new song is “about friendship, nostalgia and how music has kept us connected over the years. I can’t wait to share it with you live this summer.”
“We wanted to capture the special time in our lives – when everything was new, and we chased our dreams,” Lavigne said.
“This song is for our fans. It is a tribute to the past, but also a celebration of the present. In our hearts we are still the same child, and our love for music has not changed,” she added.

First set the music video! Party scene in the hotel room. Funny fact: I had a rotating phone like this in my room that grew up that was orange.

I wanted to get a tattoo in the music video that spelled “Young & Dumb” to accompany the lyrical “Let’s Get Stupid Tattoos” just for fun. Now I do temporary tattoos to give the fans away at the exhibitions. Now everyone who comes to the show can wear a “young & stupid” tattoo. Maybe I’ll even publish some on stage.

Our performance scene was in an empty pool for this music video. This whole performance in the pool was really fun!

This clock car is one of my favorite scenes in the video. It was actually crazy – they pressed me on it and it didn’t seem like it went so fast, but then on video it looks so fast!

It is fun to actually shoot a music video in the bunk bed because we all live on tour buses and it is such a part of our culture that is touring on the road and a large part of our lives. It was epic to film inside. We did not think that the only cover would be inside the bunk but I got my photographer Skyler to shoot us and it ended up being my favorite photo so I made it the cover.

I have been a friend with a simple plan for over 22 years and it is fantastic to think that we have experienced so many things together. We are all just children from small towns in Canada who really got to live their dream and see the world.
