Several people were injured, by at least 7 in critical state and 6 in severe condition, Lafd said.

The driver of the car crashed into the crowd after being removed from a nearby business, ABC 7 reported and quoted the Los Angeles police department.

“They all stood in line with a nightclub. There was a taco cart out there, so they were … got some food and waited to go in. And there is also a served line there,” said Lafd -captain Adam van Gerten about the audience, according to the outlet. “The host podium was taken out, the Taco truck was taken out and then a large number of people were affected by the vehicle.”

The driver – who is said to be in a Nissan Versa – had a gunshot wound after spectators removed him from the vehicle and began to attack him after the incident.

The majority of victims hit by the car were female, Ap reported.

A witness told the outlet that a fight had broken outside the club before the car hit.

“This is a heartbreaking tragedy. I want to thank it more than 100 LAFD and LAPD staff who responded to the stage to help save lives,” said Mayor Karen Bass in a statement, Per ABC 7. “Angeleno’s hearts are with all the victims affected this morning – a complete investigation of what happened is to go.”
