  • Yui Inoue will spend the rest of his life in prison for having killed his two children with a meat cloth
  • She was sentenced in February for the murder of first degree, abuse of children and disorder
  • Inoue reportedly denied to kill their children and said in court that they were with her parents

A woman in Arizona who killed her two young children with a meat clip four years ago has learned her fate.

According to Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, Yui Inoue, 44, was sentenced on May 2 to two consecutive natural life sentences for the murder of her 7-year-old son, Kai Inoue, and her 9-year-old daughter, Mia Inoue. The punishment follows her conviction in February for two bills of first degree murder, two bills of children abuse and a count of disorder.

Prosecutors also announced that Inoue received another 35 years in prison for abuse of children and unpleasant behaviors, which will be served as a result of the lifetime judges.

According to court records and police reports quoted by the county lawyer’s office, Tempe responded to police officers at Inoue’s apartment near Mill and southern avenues shortly after midnight on May 15, 2021, after a domestic disorder. Inoue and her ex-husband had recently separated and argued according to information about economics and her planned move back to Japan.

The county lawyer’s office stated that Inoue’s ex-husband told the officers that she had become physically aggressive and used a meat splendor to destroy his electronics. He left the apartment before the police arrived. Officers reported that both children lived and slept when they checked the apartment and they went without further incident.

Shortly after the officers left, prosecutors say that Inoue went into their child’s bedroom and “held every child down to the floor as she delivered dozens of blows with the meat gaps.” One prosecutor told the court that a “very conservative guess” was that Inoue beat the children about 100 times.

Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said Inoue then tried to clean up the stage. She showered, put her blood -colored clothes in a trash and partially washed the weapon. She also packed a bag that contained her passport, cash and jewelry. The authorities said that she then covered her children’s bodies with debris, a mattress and other household items before she locked the apartment and left.

According to officials, Inoue went to a nearby Tempe police station and told an officer that she had heard voices who told her that she had killed her children and saw blood. The police returned to the apartment and discovered the children deceased.

During the verdict, Inoue denied that he killed his children and made bizarre claims to the court. According to local media reports, including KTVK TVInoue said to the judge, “My children are not dead. My parents have them. They spend their time with my parents.”

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Rueter called the crime unthinkable. “Words cannot adequately describe what happened,” he said during the judgment, according to the outlet. “I can’t imagine what these children went through in recent minutes. The fear, the pain, the suffering, it is incomprehensible.”

Maricopa County lawyer Rachel Mitchell also issued a statement that condemned the crime and praised the work on law enforcement and prosecutors.

Inoue will never be eligible for release.
