Andrew Burnap thought ‘wow, my life will really change’ after being cast in Snow White (exclusive)

The actor, 34, talked to People about starting in live-action recounting Disney’s animated classics Snow white and the seven dwarves.

Burnap plays Snow White’s love interest, a common named Jonathan, in the movie – an update to the 1937 movie where Snow White ends with Prince Charming. In the Marc Web-directed feature, Jonathan is the leader of a group that opposes the evil queen, played by Gal Gadot.

“I remember trying for it. I put something on tape and sent it,” he reminded himself of trying the coveted role. “You train yourself for audition and then forget it as quickly as possible. And then weeks later I received an e -mail that says:“ They would like to meet you again. “I said,” You have to customize. “And then this next time they said,” You will go in for a chemistry read with Rachel. ”

“And then when I got the phone call that I got the job, I remember I was out and I sat down on the ground and thought, wow, my life will really change from here. And it really has it.”

Currently the lead role in the Broadway production of OopsWho played the role of Cassio, Burnap says that he and Zegler often discussed “Photography about stage versus film.” Zegler will soon play Eva Perón in Andrew Lloyd Webbers Evita At London Palladium this summer.

The actor complemented Zegler’s singing ability for the Disney remake and described her as “an angel’s voice.”

“I think that when she sings, I imagine that is how heaven may just sound,” says Burnap, adding that when Zegler meets West End, “I think she will nail it, kick it out of the park … and I think she will have an absolute blast.”

Snow White arrive at theaters on March 21.
