A number of parts of the American Airlines plane that collided with an American army helicopter has now been lifted from the river Potomac.
National Transportation Safety Board announced on Monday 3 February that they had “Reset the aft body, right engine and right pylon“by jet.
At a news briefing, Colonel Frank Pera said from the US Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District to remove additional pieces of the wreck, including from the Black Hawk helicopter, will continue, but that the whole process will probably take several days, according to to NBC News.
“The level of coordination both behind the scenes and out at Potomac is exceptional,” added Baltimore District Commander Col. Francis Pera “We do not have and will not lose focus on what is most important – the security of our crews and accounting for them is still missing to close their families and loved ones.”
In addition, NTSB said that investigators have “received training and flight logs for both flight crews and maintenance logs” for both aircraft – and they are currently working to “synchronize flight data enters and Cockpit voting data.”
