A 93-year-old woman died after she was beaten by a police officer in a parking lot in Maryland, the authorities said.
On Friday, August 15, at 06:45 local time, a non-enthusiast officer from the Howard County Police Department in an unmarked police vehicle (a GMC Acadia) pulled out from a parking lot in the Dobbin Center in Columbia when SUV struck a pedestrian, the police department said in a news message.
The unidentified 93-year-old woman walked in the travel part of the parking lot, according to police. After she met, the woman was transported to a shock traum center, where she was later pronounced dead.
After a preliminary investigation, the authorities do not believe that the speed caused the deadly incident. An investigation is ongoing.

Officials said that the official, who had been part of the technical support section, is now on “standard administrative leave.”
The Howard County Police Department and head of medical examiners did not immediately respond to people’s request for further comments.
Several people told NBC Affiliate Wbal That the victim ate at Panera Bread, located in the mall, every morning before walking around the parking lot.
“I’ve seen her – the same people come every morning,” said Jackiel, who often visits the eating, to the outlet. “She would just cross the parking lot. She would come out and she would be with someone.”
Another person, who works in a nearby store, told Wbal that it would have been difficult to speed up the parking lot.
“This parking lot is not set for it, even if you tried to speed up, you wouldn’t get too far,” Saint Tucker said to the outlet. “So I couldn’t even say they rushed to a conversation or something like that, I honestly feel it was an accident, about something.”
