A teenage boy in North Carolina died after crashing his car in a tree while he was about to work during the early hours of Thursday, August 14.
University student Gary Landyn Jacobs, 17, was on his way to a job for the family’s timber operations around 4 o’clock when his car met a tree on Canal Cove Road in Lake WaccaMaw, according to Fold.
The logging crew was reportedly working in the nearby green swamp, according to Columbus County News.
One reason for the crash has not yet been revealed. People contacted Lake WaccaMaw Police Department for comments.
“What he would do that morning … He wanted to be in the log forest, he would work,” his uncle Josh Simmons told Wect about his nephew, who went under his middle name.
“Without a shadow of doubt, someone who knows the Landyn knew that he would drive a crew in the Timmer Forest with his brother and father,” he added.
Jacobs, a student at East Columbus High School, was treated by emergency recipients at the site of the crash. But he died of his injuries, WECT reported.

“Gator Family and Community Please Keep the Jacobs family and our school in your thoughts because we have lost our beloved Landyn Jacobs. Always remember that we are better together!”, East Columbus High School wrote at Facebook.
Simmons talked about his nephew and told Wect that Jacobs was a “a go-goats and a clown on the baseball field that made everyone laugh.”

“He was a gem at the second base. Recently at high school he won MVP in our eastern tournament,” he continued. “He liked to ride quad bikes. They put snoring on their quad bikes and they go into ponds with them and they loved it.”
“We are about the family, and if one of us hurts, we all hurt. We got each other back, and we will be there for each other, his mother and father and aunt,” Simmons continued.
Jacobs is survived by his parents, sister, brothers and expanded family members, according to an online obituary.
