A man in California was arrested almost a month after a teenage girl was unloaded by several dogs when he jogged through his neighborhood.
On Wednesday, August 13, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBCSD) arrested Craig Arthur Simmons, 61, in conjunction with the dog of the dog, after “performing surveillance” at his home, SBCSD’s Barstow station announced in a warning.
The arrest took place almost a month after a 17-year-old girl was dropped by more than 10 dogs in the Newberry Springs community on July 17. At that time, the girl’s parents said she was jogging when the “big racial dogs” attacked her, according to the authorities.
The teen has since been identified locally and through a Gofundme Campaign, like Tracy.
Prior to Simmon’s arrest, the police said they saw the suspect cycling down a road near the home. They interviewed him and then took him into custody, and he was later booked into the High Desert Detection Center.
Simmons is accused of breaking the code 399 (b), owner of animals causing serious bodily injury or death, according to SBCSD.
SBCSD did not immediately respond to people’s request for further information on Saturday, August 16. It is not clear if Simmons has legal representation to comment on his behalf.

SBCSD announced Last month that the authorities learned about Mauling about 9:52 local time on July 17. The police said the attack took place about two hours before.
The teenager was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center, and after talking to her parents, the police learned that the dogs grazed her “several times” on her arms and legs. The attack left the girl with “big laces, injuries and removed meat”, per authorities.
A witness saved their teens from the animals. According to SBCSD, the dogs “were not fenced or connected at the time of the event.” San Bernardino Animal Control later seized 16 dogs from the area, before the launch of a criminal investigation.
During the attack, the teenager travels to a training facility near a local community center, ABC 7 Los Angeles reported.
While the girl’s mother told the outlet that she “never thought anything would happen to her,” she added that she “couldn’t” recognize “her daughter after the attack, because she was covered with dirt.
“What went through my mind was the worst,” her stepfather, Carlos Ramirex, told ABC 7. “It wasn’t a dog or two dogs, it was a lot. They bite all parts of her body you could think of except her ankles.”
The Gofundme page for the teenager, who reported ABC 7 has been released from the hospital, said she was preparing for her high school.
“Now, because of this, she has to stay home and go to several doctors’ meetings and rehabilitation,” the collection said. “Because of the trauma she can’t sleep at night; she has nightmares.”
