  • Her sister has met her boyfriend for about four months
  • She finally went to the birthday dinner solo but was “quiet all the time”

A birthday should be a special day for the person who will be another year older. For a woman who was not her experience because of her sister and her boyfriend.

According to the birthday girl, who shared his story about Reddit’s popular R/Amitheasshole -forum On Thursday, August 14, the drama broke out after she decided not to invite her sister’s boyfriend to her intimate birthday dinner last weekend.

The 27-year-old said she had planned that the meeting would be something for just “close friends and nearest family”-total 8 people, as the restaurant had a limit to the guests allowed at her preferred time slot.

“I prioritized my parents, my brother and his wife and my best friends that I have known for over a decade,” said Reddit user.

She added her 25-year-old sister Lily to the guest list, but thought she could come solo because she has only met her boyfriend for about four months now.

“He is doing well, but we are not close and he can be a bit … Hmmmm … intense in group settings,” explained the Reddit user and noted that she has also only hit ground twice.

The birthday girl explained the table limit to her sister and expressed that she wanted the event to be too close to family and friends, but her sister “seemed upset and asked why Mark was not invited.”

“She said he is” basically family now “and that it was rude to exclude him,” the birthday girl said.

While her sister ended up for the birthday dinner, the Reddit user said she was “quiet all the time” and barely talked to her.

“My mom suggested that I” should have made space “to avoid drama. I feel bad that she is injured, but it was my birthday and I wanted it a little,” said the birthday girl, who wonders if she was wrong all the time.

The Reddit user received his response in the comment section, where different people agreed that she is “not A ——” (NTA).

“NTA. It’s not like you have a huge party where capacity is not a question,” one person wrote. “A boyfriend of a few months is not” part of the family “and if she can’t spend a few hours away from him to celebrate her sister at a small collection, it’s just pathetic.”

“How would you” just make room “when the restaurant had an eight person limit?”, Another comment read. “Your sister meets someone for the whole of a hot second does not make him family or compulsory you or anyone else to automatically include him in everything. She has to grow up. NTA.”
