Dacre Montgomery enters the director’s chairman.
The Went up the hill The actor, 30, reveals to people that he will direct his first film – which he will also start in – in the coming months. While he did not give away too many details about the project, he admitted that director is a goal he had had his eye for a long time.
“I really came to a point in my acting career where I sat on sets … and said to the director:” What do you think about this? Maybe you can try it that way? “, Says Montgomery.
He says director Gus van Sant, with whom he recently worked on the film Dead man’s thread, Even allowed him to go beyond his actor and “write a scene in the movie” – which gave him a taste of creative control.

“I was like,” Oh, I think my character would have this thing in a nightmare in the sequence … and Gus was like, “Right, let’s put it in.” So he spoke to the writer and the author was like, “okay, write it,”, the actor reminds.
The Elvis Actors, who describe himself as a “Total Cinephile”, says he wanted to take it a step further and create a whole movie where he could shape the vision from beginning to end – and, most importantly, control the story and visuals in the way he wanted.
“My thing was just like, I want control over the story,” Montgomery explains. “And I have tried to find a story to direct for the last nine years of my working life, and four years ago I found it. It took four years to get it from the ground and financed … and then hopefully we start shooting in two months.”
“I’m really excited. Over the moon,” he adds to have the opportunity to direct. “… (I) go into a really hard prepzone for the movie and release the map a little and just get ready.”
It is not the only project he is excited about. Montgomery says his new film, Walked up the hill – Who contains him as a mourning son named Jack who is bound with his mother’s widow Jill (played by Vicky Krieps) when they mourn – was the perfect role to pull him back into the limelight after an actor.

“… I went,” that’s exactly why I’ve taken time off. That’s exactly what I want to do, “he says.” And it changed my life. The process of repeating and making the movie really changed my life. ”
The Stranger Things Star said he strives to make films that leave an “impact” on people and have “something really important to say” when he continues his film career.
“That’s why you make these movies, or how it just has to affect a person in the right way to work,” he says. “And that’s really what I’m really trying to break in my career is to be part of such projects.”
