The Minnesota police are trying to reveal a mystery around the death of a man who met while lying in the middle of a road.
Officials were sent to the area 2700 Salem Road SW in Rochester “for an accident with injuries” just before 5 o’clock local time on Sunday 3 August, according to one News notice from the Rochester Police Department (RPD).
The police said a driver had “reported that he met a person lying in the roadway” and found a man lying in the eastbound lane on the road when they arrived at the scene.
Officers “immediately began life-saving efforts,” but the 38-year-old man did not survive.
Family members have identified the man who died as Nathan Michael Westergaard, according to one Gofundme campaign began to support his loved ones in the wake of his sudden death.

The police said that an investigation into human death is ongoing. Westergaard’s family is also looking for answers.
“Together with the grief came questions that remain unanswered,” wrote Melina Susienka, who organized the online collection. “Why was Nate found alone, so far from home? Why was his phone not found?”
Westergaard was born and raised in Rochester, according to Gofundme, who has collected more than $ 10,000 from Thursday 7 August.
He was also assistant golf professionals at Rochester Golf and Country Club, according to NBC Affiliate Kttc. His colleague Martin Keefe said he worked with Westergaard – who was on his way from work the day of his death – for 16 years.
“I didn’t believe it for a couple of hours. I really didn’t,” Keefe told the station. “I mean, this is a guy I’ve seen 5-6 days a week throughout my life, and suddenly I say it is no longer.”

The police said there was no evidence of criminal behavior as a result of the crash, according to KTTC.
At the same time, the family members hope Rochester “can help support the Westergaard family” as their beloved supported the city in life.
