Franco had the idea to ask the question while they were on a trip to Big Sur, California, but he didn’t have the ring yet because he knew Brie wanted to choose it with him and get his friend, jewelry designer Irene NeuwirthCreate it.
So in the meantime he bought “a place holder ring” in an antique shop. “I got what I thought was a really cool old ring,” Neighbors Star recalled for people.
Another important part of his proposal plan? Wear a silver zorro mask that was central to the weekend 2011 when he and Brie met first – and triggered chemistry – while celebrating Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Brie had it all weekend, and Franco has kept it all these years of sentimentality.
“I was like,” okay, I don’t have the actual ring, but I have the mask. “And it will be this sweet thing where she will realize, I kept this mask from the first time we met, what kind of proven, this was love at first sight,” he told People.
But when the big moment came, and he was down on a knee with the mask, Brie failed to understand the meaning of his gesture.
“I have no memory of this mask,” Community Said said said “I mean, I remember it from the weekend, but I had no idea he had kept it all the time.”

Franco chimped in, “what she sees is that I wear this stupid Zorro mask and hold up this dirty ring.”

Franco told us Amount“The mask hangs in our kitchen with a photo from the first night we met.”
