A recently divorced woman, who put her home on the market, has one No Good deeds moment after her former friends decided they wanted to buy it.
Mom to two, who shared her dilemma on Reddits ”Am i a —— “the forumSays she found out that her husband was in the middle of a “very tall” business while she was pregnant. When she confronted him, he moved out of the house while acting “very motivated, hostile and mentoring,” the woman writes.
After their split, she put home, who is in her name, on the market.
She quickly received several offers, one of which came from a very surprisingly potential buyer: her ex husband’s best man and his wife, with whom she had been friends for several years, but “haunted” her after the deal and subsequent split.
The troublesome situation was made even more uncomfortable when, she says, the couple got their real estate agent to tell her that they were interested in buying her home.

The Reddit user writes that the couple was originally “sympathetic” for her after the divorce, but then it became strange.
They “disappeared in the last 6 months,” she writes. “Ghosted me and the kids … would be heartfelt when I came across them, and I would also be. But other than that, no support.”

She says she thinks the couple is not bad people, but makes an already difficult situation difficult and more emotional than it needs to be.
Because of their treatment of her, the homeowner in her post admits that she was reluctant to choose them over other potential buyers who have made similar offers in the house.
“I feel they dance on the grave a bit,” the woman wrote.
After publishing its first post on Reddit while bidding was in a dead heat, the user shared an update that her former friends returned with a higher offer and established herself as the front runners.
“I got a high offer, it’s close to $ 3 (millions), and it’s from my ex best friend and his wife,” she shared.
The amount was more than she “dreamed” of receiving, she said, and would allow her to pay off the mortgage and still have some money left.
As a result, the other potential buyers who had made lower offers passed away. But the homeowner began to get a bad feeling when she did not immediately get a signed contract from her ex friends.
“That’s when calls and messages start,” the woman told her colleagues.
The man, she says, insisted on talking to her before signing the contract, even though he had previously avoided face to face. The counter told her they were “ready to sign, but” want to check if you are okay. ”
“I tell the agent that this is emotional blackmail,” writes the homeowner. The couple, she feels, had “a conscience crisis” after realizing to buy the home after their past behavior may not be a good look for them.
“When it comes, they have to have some” spin “on (the purchase),” the woman claims.
Still, she was not willing to say goodbye to $ 3 million and it was “too risky to call their scam”, that without her blessing they would not buy the house.
The homeowner chose to send a text that confirmed that she was doing well with the sale, and within an hour, she says, the signed contract in her inbox.
“I get a text from each of them and thank me and (say) that my children and I am important to them and they would never have signed if I was not good,” she concludes.
Now, even though they have other thoughts before the closure, she says, she will retain her deposit of $ 500,000.

In the comment section, Reddit users quickly came to the original poster’s defense and claimed that she was not guilty of her ex’s friends to sell them the house.
“You have gone through a lot, and you do not owe them anything when it comes to selling the house to them just because of their previous relationship with your husband,” a person wrote. “Don’t feel pressured to make a decision that doesn’t sit right with you. You deserve to make choices that prioritize your own peace of mind and the future for you and your children.”
Another added, “There is no law that says you have to sell to the people who used to be friends. There is also no team that requires you to sell to the highest bid. You can sell to whom you want.”
