‘Human Skin Teddy Bear’ which is outside the store turns out to be prank: reports

A “human skin teddy bear” that was discovered outside a convenience store in California over the weekend was probably placed there as a prank, despite the police starting an investigation, according to reports.

On Sunday, July 13, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of possible human residue that is outside an AMPM store at a gas station in the 13600 Quarter in Bear Valley Road in City of Victorville, NBC 4 LOS Angeles reported, with reference to police spokesman Mara Rodriguez.

“A coronary investigator has taken possession of the object, and the investigation continues,” Rodriguez said according to the outlet.

Pictures obtained by Ktla showed that the authorities had turned off the parking lot while Coroner Investigator looked at the bear, which had been left just outside the store’s entrance, the outlet noted.

Despite the ongoing investigation, the bear is actually made of latex and is currently Sold onlinedescribed as a “human skin teddy bear”, for $ 165, ABC-affiliated station Kabc noted.

South Carolina artist Robert Kelly from Dark Seed Creations is now taking credit for the work and confirms that he sent one of the bears to a customer in Victorville last week, the outlet said.

He told ABC7 Eyewitness News, “I guess I would probably lie if I said I didn’t enjoy a little.

“I don’t know if the guy broke any laws or (IF) It was just a prank, but it looks like he definitely made some people ripped up,” the artist – who specializes in horror special effects and haunted attractions – was added according to the outlet.

The artist published a video of the bears in terms of Facebook On Sunday, wrote that his work had been “used in a prank.”

“No, I had no knowledge of (buyer’s) intentions, nor was I involved in a prank on the other side of me,” wrote the artist, leaving that someone can still order one of the bears online. He confirmed that he had sent one of the articles to a customer in Victorville last week.

“One of (the) things that we are known for is that we do many of these props that are false human skin,” shared Kelly per ktla.

“So they are all made of latex. They are created by a form. Our things are quite recognizable in the industry. So when this happened a few hours ago my phone started to blow up, Facebook started to blow up,” he told the publication.

Kelly, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office did not answer immediately when contacted by People for further information.
