In mid -June, HBO Max announced that production on season 2 had started and planned premiere in January 2026. Like Season 1, it follows the same format, where each section took place for one hour in the same shift. Season 2, however, will be canceled in July.

When the first season begins, it is revealed that Ifeachor’s character is pregnant after trying to have a child through IVF and without a partner. Heather was thinking of keeping the pregnancy secret, but after miscarriage during the shift, she told Robby, her former boyfriend.
The former couple chats briefly about it on the back of an empty ambulance. Throughout their conversation, she also revealed that she became pregnant with her child and had an abortion. After her revelation, Robby said her to go home and recover.

Emissions spoke exclusively to people In May about her role, Heather’s relationship with Robby and even the intimate conversation in the ambulance.
“It’s like when two people could only gather it and be together, but for some reason they just miss each other,” she told people when asked what made the characters in particular. “The ambulance scene is probably the first time they have had a really honest conversation with each other for all earlier.”
“So they stop missing each other. But they have a connection that I’m really happy to see it on the screen,” she said. “It would be wonderful to see (Dr. Collins and Dr. Robby) come to some kind of resolution. I think they finally do in the ambulance scene because they stop having a real conversation.”
