Sophie Turner credits Game of Thrones For the many life lessons she learned during her teens.
Turner, 29, appeared on Dish Podcast and recalled for hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett that her “fantastic” experience on the series for nine years “informed (her) all life in terms of similar business decisions, just label on set, how to act”, adds “everything I learned from Game of Thrones – and a little from my parents ”
Turner first auditioned for the role of Sansa Stark at the age of 12 and began filming two years later. She wrapped the series when she was 23 during the show’s eighth and final season.
Although she spent much of her life filming the series, she admitted to the co-hosts that she has not yet seen the show, partly because of her reluctance to look at herself on the screen. But she said to film the Emmy-winning series was the “best actor class.”

“I’ve never had proper formal education, so I got to learn from the amazing actors around me, which I felt I was winning a competition,” she said. “But it was fantastic. We were all a family.”
“My character, I have to live with,” Turner continued. “So it felt like we were merged into a person at the end of it. But it was fantastic.”
Together with learning more about the craft and herself, she also said that she received her lessons for sex teaching from watching the graphic scenes filmed on set.
She acknowledged that the series’ naked scenes-of which some were intertwined with controversial stories-where “really crazy S —.”
“I definitely got my sex education from that show,” she joked. “More, more than enough.”

In October 2024, less than five years after Game of Thrones wrapped, she was asked by Amount If she would ever play Sansa again.
“Maybe. I mean, it must be exactly the same role and exactly the same crew otherwise I would not go back, and it would only be season 9,” she said, “I don’t think we will do a season 9.”
However, the actress repeated that she “loved to play Sansa.”
“I often wonder what she would do now,” she told Amount. “Where would she be five years later, what would she do?”
