In honor Wild Wild West 26th anniversary, Smith, 56, still shared a cheeky from the movie where he was dressed in nothing but a strategically placed cowboy hat. The actor formed the Instagram photo on June 30: “Wild Wild West came out 26 years ago today- Sorry that this is the only photo I could find.”
A user wrote in the comments, “My favorite scene. Explanation is not needed.” Another wrote, “You were one of my childhood crushes. Well done on building a career that really had and still has an impact. 💜✨”

Wild Wild West Released in 1999. The film, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, was based loosely on the 1960s CBS show of the same name created by Michael Garrison. The film followed two Secret Service agents (Smith and Kevin Kline) when protecting President Ulysses S. Grant from the growing unpredictable threats from the US Western border.
Smith referred once to Wild Wild West Like his worst movie. In an interview 2021 with GQ, The actor answered a question of what he thinks is his best movie and his worst movie. He said: “For the best I think it’s a tie between the first Men in black and The pursuit of happiness. For various reasons, it is the two almost perfect films. ”

As for the worst, he said, “I don’t know, Wild Wild West is a tower on my side. ”
“Seeing myself in chaps … I don’t like it,” he added and laughed.
The choice to start in Wild Wild West came the same time he was offered the role of neo in Matrix. Smith rejected the role in the film, which turned out to be a mega-hit, to make Steampunk Western action comedy. Keanu Reeves continued to start in Matrix in his place.
