The suspect in Madeleine McCann’s death could be released from prison early after an anonymous person paid out an outstanding fine for him.

With reference to the German news agency DPA, the Associated Press reported Monday June 23, that Christian Bruecknerwhich is currently behind bars for a separate crime during investigation for the death of British toddlers in 2007, could be released in mid -September instead of January 2026.

In April 2022, Breckner was formally appointed as suspected in the child’s death.

A spokesman for the Prosecutor’s Office said that if the payment could accidentally “investigate whether a refund is possible.”

Madeleine was never found, and her body was never recovered.

“I think all kinds of events we do, whether it’s a birthday or a family’s occasion or even an achievement or something, it’s kind of when you really feel her absence,” Kate said.

“So we mark the anniversary,” Gerry said. “I think it has been good for the public to hear the police say that there is no evidence that she is dead, and that there is still an active investigation, and there is still hope. So surely from my point of view, someone knows what has happened.”
