A toddler’s life was canceled shortly after his father is said to have left him in a vehicle in Florida heat for hours while he got a hairstyle and drank in a bar.
On Thursday, June 19, Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) and Ormond Beach Police Department (OBPD) Father, Scott Gardner, arriving at allegations of aggravated murder of a child and child’s neglect that caused great bodily injury, the authorities said in one News notice. The arrest came almost two weeks after the death of his son, 18 -month -old Sebastian Gardner.
Toddlers spent over three hours in the back seat of a “hot truck” on June 6 while his father, 33, spent time in classic cuts and Hanky Panky’s lounge, a barber shop and cocktail salon that is close to each other in Ormond Beach, according to Sheriff’s Office.

Florida Dad left Sebastian in the back seat of the truck with the windows down, no air conditioning and a small, battery -powered fan pointed to the child, said Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood under an emotional News Brief on Friday June 20.
Scott left Sebastian in the vehicle around 11:30 when he went to get his hairstyle, according to a timeline investigator. He then finished his hairstyle and went to Hanky Pankys around noon, where he stopped and drank until at least 14.00, police say.
During his time in the bar “backed down a customer” in a bartender’s car “, and Scott came out to investigate the damage to the vehicle, the investigators say. He did not check Sebastian before entering the bar to order more drinks per chitwood.

Around 14:40, Gardner Hanky left Pankys, drove a “short distance” home and then continued to call 911 to report that Sebastian did not breathe, Chitwood said.
“My son doesn’t breathe. One and a half years. Oh my God. He only had his eyes open. Oh my God, Sebastian,” says the Father in a recording of the 911 call. However, the investigators said that toddlers were dead one to two hours before his father contacted the authorities.
After the conversation, an officer with OBPD responded on stage, but could not perform CPR, as toddlers had already entered Rigor Mortis, according to Chitwood. That is not the answer, the 18-month old was then taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 15:30
Toddlers’ temperature was above 107 degrees when he arrived at the hospital and led medical personnel to estimate that the temperature in the vehicle reached 111 degrees, Chitwood said.

After Sebastian was pronounced dead and the investigation of the incident on June 6 – with Scott’s account in conflict with the assessment of hospital staff – the child’s father returned to Hanky Panky’s for drinks, according to the sheriff.
Scott, along with his mother, stayed at the bar until “almost midnight,” he said. Witnesses at the bar said that the couple “did not seem as upset as you could expect to be for the child to have just passed,” said an investigator in the news brief, and added that this “is compatible with the interactions we had (Scott) at the hospital.”
Investigators also said in the news bridge on June 20 that they did not believe that Scott’s mother became aware of her grandchildren’s death at that time.

Although the police said that Scott finally acknowledged, the confession came after he “gave several false stories about what happened” the day of his son’s death, according to the sheriff’s office.
“This danger is a human piece of rubbish,” Chitwood said during the news brief. “And he’s a horizontal sack of S —.”
“There is no logical reason why this little guy is dead,” Chitwood continued by toddlers and later added that the situation “Absolutely shocks conscience.”
“We’ve seen it, people forget their children in the back seat, but it was completely different,” the sheriff said. “This was intentional. That’s what the fees are for.”
