Ed Henry is decommissioning suit that was submitted by the former Fox News employment that accused him of rape

After an astonishing five -year legal battle, Jennifer Eckhart Hope her work will help the survivors of trauma invent their own lives.

Court documents submitted in the southern district of New York on Sunday, June 15, obtained by humans, indicates that she decided her 2020 speech against Ed Henrywhere she accused the former Fox News reporter for rape.

Eckhart, who previously worked for Fox, claimed in the suit that Henry started when she was 24 years before he was alleged to rape her when she worked on the network. She says that a civil trial finally approached before the settlement was agreed.

“This has been an exhaustive, retraumatizing, five -year legal struggle with incredible challenges that sometimes I almost could not bear,” Eckhart tells People exclusively. “With this settlement in place, a weight has now been lifted from my shoulders and my passion to support other survivors of trauma has been renewed.”

In his trial, which was obtained by people and named both Henry and Fox News as respondents, Eckhart claimed that she was “violently raped while she was helpless and held stuck in metal handcuffs.”

Henry was fired by Fox News in July 2020, weeks before the mood was submitted. In a response to the complaint, Henry denied Eckhart. He is now working for Newsmax.

In March, a federal judge dismissed Fox News as defendant, even though Eckhart says she plans to appeal the dismissal.

After the settlement, Henry’s lawyer Gary Rosen gave a statement to people.

“This issue has been resolved to the parties’ mutual satisfaction, and the parties move on with their lives,” Rosen said.

Although the atmosphere has now decided, Eckhart says, that her work is not done, noting that she runs a non -profit, the reversed project, which helps trauma survivors through animal assisted therapy.

Eckhart worked for Fox for almost a decade and worked as a reporter and producer. She left the company after her trial, which she said was ready for responsibility.

She began to host the podcast, Invented with Jen Eckhart, “Giving a voice to the voiceless” and has previously contained interviews with high -profile guests such as Billy Corgan, who talked about “Generation Trauma.”

“I turned pain into purpose,” says Eckhart. “I think the overall theme, as far as this case does not go to trial, is that survivors do not require validation from a courtroom to come stronger than what is trying to break them.”

Eckhart is now seeking systemic change when her judicial struggle turns to her judicial appeal of the network’s termination from the mood.

For Eckhart, systemic change means more safeguards for media personnel who set “Good faith complaints.”

The atmosphere claimed that Fox News was aware that Henry is said to have “engaged in sexual behavior” from 2017, three years before he was finally dismissed in the case of Eckhart’s possible civilian complaints. The judge who supervised the case finally decided to dismiss Fox News as defendant.

“This is a turning point in the company’s America where we set standards on message,” says Eckhart. “Whether it is sweeping complaints under the rug or do not take better precautions and have better security measures to protect their employees from situations such as the one I suffered.”

Eckhart says she is struggling to win her appeal and is intended to be responsible.

“I’m not here for headlines,” she says. “I’m here for justice.”
