Breyer’s ice cream recalled because of incorrectly labeled life -threatening allergen

Over 6,600 cases of Breyer’s ice cream have been recalled among concerns that the product is incorrectly labeled and contains a “life -threatening” allergen.

US Food and Drug Administration confirmed that 6,668 cases of Breyers Chocolate Truffle ice cream voluntarily recalled by Unilever Manufacturing on June 2 in a Tuesday 10 June statement.

The reason for the recall was established to be “unkind allergens and mis -labeled product.”

“Rocky Road Ice was packed with chocolate truffle ice cream -labeled bathtub and a rocky wall lid.

FDA declared that this is a Class II recall, as defined as “A situation where the use of or exposure to a violent product can cause temporary or medically reversible negative health consequences or where the probability of serious negative health effects is distant.”

A representative of Breyers commented on the recall in a statement shared with humans and said: “Unilever in the United States is voluntary to recall a lot of Breyer’s chocolate truffle 1.5 quarters after some were shown to contain rocky walls, which include almonds that are not listed on the label.”

The statement continued: “People with a almond allergy should not consume the product due to the risk of serious or life -threatening allergic reaction. Safety and quality of our products is our highest priority. For more information, consumers may visit www.breyers.com Or call 1-800-931-2826. ”

It is unclear where exactly the cases with ice cream were distributed across the United States. The FDA reported distribution as a focus on “distribution centers and retail sites across the United States”

Rocky Road is a taste of ice cream containing almonds. Although almonds are regarded as tree nuts, the label for Breyer’s chocolate truffle ice cream says only that the product “may contain tree nuts.”

Breyers recall comes a few weeks after almost 18,000 containers with wells dairy ice cream and frozen yogurt were recalled due to pollution with hard plastic.

Wells Enterprises, which produces Well’s dairy products, was responsible for the recall, which was aimed at 22 different flavors of frozen desserts.
