As Father’s Day approaches, Aiken prepares to release its debut single 22 years later and adds a special twist. “Dimensions of a man (father’s day version)” take the track and fine -tune the lyrics to be from a father’s perspective, especially a father to a teenager.
“If I get more than a cruel for a few days, we’re in good shape,” says Aiken. “I force him to get into my room in the morning before going to school now because I can’t drive him anymore. He drives himself. I force him, he has to get into my room and talk to me before going to school because otherwise he probably wouldn’t talk to me all day.”
He adds, “I think, especially, many fathers and sons have it during this development period and I realized that I could adjust the lyrics to the song and talk about how it is sometimes difficult to put on your feelings and how sometimes I may not be able to say it, but that does not mean I do not love you.”
“Dimensions of a man (Father’s Day version)” is available Friday 13 June.
