A young horse is free after living his life under terrible conditions.
Officials from Polk County Animal Cruelty Investigation Unit in Florida received a tip that two malnourished horses were seen on a farm in Lake Wales, according to one press release. A video of one of horses – named Thunder – to jump with joy after being saved is viral.
“This is his first time that has ever experienced a pasture land and being able to run free (well something free) and he loves it,” Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) wrote in a Facebook post on June 3. “He was held in a very small booth in a dark barn and never turned out to be pasture.”
At 2-year-old Paso Fino Horse’s Rescue, he was taken to a wide open pasture and stable, where thunderstorms were moved to rehabilitate him back to health.
The police found thunderstorms in an “extremely lean” and “malnut” condition with his legs that stand out, according to the press release. The second horse, found in the yard about 60 miles east of Tampa, died.
“Another lay on the ground in his own stool, could not lift his head and barely breathe – this horse gave in to his serious neglect and was deceased when the detectives arrived,” read the press release.

Detectives found six other horses, 11 goats and two sheep that also live under the terrible conditions.
“Piles of solid waste, including rotting household waste, scrap, wastewood, 23 tires, hundreds of flies and broken appliances, spread around,” according to the press release. “Detective also located a trough filled with a mixture of frost protection and gasoline and leaked in water that the animals then drank.”
The police arrested homeowner Joemanuel Nunez-Suarez and accused him of crimes against the cruelty of animals.

Nunez-Suarez claimed that the three horses that lived under inhuman conditions belonged to a friend he told to come and pick up the animals three months ago because it was too expensive to give them food.
Two suspects were accused of environmental crime, two others were accused of resisting arrest and “all animals were arrested by PCSO and will be rehabilitated,” stated release.
“We appreciate the tipster who warned us of the regrettable conditions on this property,” said PCSO Sheriff Gradu Judd in statement. “It is a pity that we could not save one of the abused horses, but we will make it our mission to rehabilitate all animals that were exposed to this dirt and neglect, and make sure that these suspects never own animals again.”
