From Lopez’s high -intensity host game that included everything from dance makeouts to several wardrobe changes, to the return of a hairstyle that you might think remained in the past, Amas gave us a lot to talk about during the show and well tomorrow.

Most, all -round: Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez will definitely never go half with anything, which was obvious (once again) when she opened the show with a dance medley consisting of 23 of the night’s songs condensed to six minutes. It meant everything from a line dancing to “Tipsy (a bar song)” to kisses with both her male and female backup dancers to “beautiful things” to some serious hair photography to “they don’t like us”-everything while wearing (what else?) A naked-illusion glittering cat suit. Then she went out just seconds later – still breathless! – To start his host monologist in a plunging silver Miss Sohee dress with Teal Opera Coat. After all, She had her own similarly over-the-top 2015 amas hosting gig to beat!

Most Creative Partial Nudity: SZA

“Szas Pasties is a vibe”, one of our editors explained in our Amas Slack channel, and that was correct. After several years with dull clean black dresses over bra and undies, we must give it up for a dress that thoughtfully frames some glittering pasties and puts the wearer’s butt on a shelf. A little deduction for how difficult it was for her to come to the microphone to accept favorite female R&B artist, but she laughed off it when she jumped as gracefully as she could up the stairs.

Best (yet most tragic) Throwback: Nikki Glaser and Heidi Klum denied the chance to rip off Benson Bone’s suit

Benson Boone’s bold, sparkling purple suit was intended to be carried for the entire performance of “mystical magical”, much to the disappointment from a very prepared Nikki Glaser and Heidi Klum, that had previously demolished by his tux to reveal a jumpsuit on Grammys.

Most ready to thank: Gwen Stefani

Instead of bananas, Gwen Stefani could have changed lyrics to potatoes, because in his majority jacket worn for “Hollaback Girl” part of her medley, she gave sexy Thanksgiving mask.

Biggest evidence of “hard work and commitment”: Janet Jackson

Janet Jackson showed up to accept his icon prize and gave the fans a sniffitt of what they can expect on her just kicked Las Vegas residence, complete with some of the choreography that she is so famous for set for some of her decades of hits (including, of course, Tik Tok-Hot “someone to call my lover”). Nice As no time had passed Since she first set foot on the Amas scene as an artist in 1989, the star sang some hits, showed some dance movements, Then accepted the award.

“I don’t consider myself an icon, my family, myself; our dream was never known,” she said about her siblings, including superstar Michael Jackson. “We always had a special love for music, dance and singing and fame came with the result of hard work and commitment.”

From Gwen Stefani to Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson to Gloria Estefan (under whose medley Lopez could not stop dancing along), the female artists had decades (and in Jackson’s case, a full half-century) of experience during their belts and was still as a show stop as they ever had been. Nikki Glaser joked that the secret to life as an artist should never age, and these women are the living (and dancing) evidence.

You are watching Half of Jennifer Lopez’s High-Fashion Host EnsemblesWhich, in a show than ran two hours, is about a look every 15 minutes. No one will ever accuse Jennifer Lopez to be dismissed to the bit.

On one night that was about inheritance documents, no 80s icon had a better night than Mullet, Business-in-Front-Party-in-Back-Away clamp for many a retro music video. Benson Boone, Rod Stewart (who has never let mullet go out of style), Jason Tartick and Dan Smyers made all their individual – but equally suffering – cases to return the hairstyle.
