‘Sister Wives’ gives inside look at late Garrison Brown’s emotional, tearful funeral

This week’s section of Sister women was an emotional.

On Sunday, May 18 Garrison brownPrivate funeral service in Wyoming. He was buried at Penrose Cemetery in Byron, Wyoming, next to relatives, including his grandmother Cheryl.

A title card that was played before pictures from the service appeared and informed the audience that “at the family’s request, cameras were placed at a distance during the funeral to respect their privacy.”

From there, Garrison’s mother, Janelle BrownTalked to the cameras and admitted that she was “just kind of them” and not “really had any feelings” when she was preparing for the tragic moment. “It’s just one of the things you just wonder, how did we get here? It’s just nothing but boring and heartbreaking,” Meri Brown said separately.

Kody BrownGarrison’s father, then noted that “there will be some trouble still” on the way into the service because of the larger family’s movement.

The leading service was Kody’s swogs, Tim, who arrived with a Hawaiian shirt and shorts. Kody, Kody, 56, explained the inspiration behind the unique fashion election, 56, “Garrison had this little business he wanted to start calling Bob’s floral. And it would be, you know, Hawaiian shirts.”

Tim gave some prepared comments, starting with saying “marriage” is the reason why they all, which led to the participants breaking out in laughter. Janelle, 56, appreciated the gesture and noted that Garrison would have done something “stupid” like this too.

Then, with a more bleak attitude, Tim shared “The most important thing I removed from Garrison in life was that we will always find a way to cut something.”

“We will always find a way to find humor, and we will enjoy life,” Tim continued. “None of us, except for a mother who has had this set of events, will understand a mother’s anxiety. None of us, except a father who has been in this circumstance, will understand a father’s regret.”

“On the other hand, over time, a mother will understand just one mother’s joy, a father will only understand a father’s pride. And this mortality is about learning to embrace both sides of the experience.”

From there, Tim requested that everyone remove their “shoes and socks and stand barefoot on the grass”, which Kody separately explained was “not a fundamentalist Mormon thing” they did. He also noted that this funeral “is not a cake carrier in any way” and that “Garrison would have it with your bare feet on the ground.”

“When I stand here with my naked feet on earth, I want to testify that I believe in the resurrection. And I have a faith, but most of the time I have a hope that I will be reunited, that I will be reunited with my loved ones and that we will rejoice in a mutual embrace again,” ended Tim. “And I would encourage everyone to get such a testimony in the name Christ Jesus, Amen.”

They began to place Garrison’s urn in the grave, which Janelle lifted to Handen to Kody, which then placed it in the ground. Janelle felt like “There is a certain symbolism in me that handed him over to Kody.”

But before he did it, Kody shared a new “dream” he had, where “Garrison sat in my bed and it wasn’t boring.” He continued, “I said,” Why have you gone, boy? “He said,” I’m not, not so bad here.

Other family members also took a moment to speak, as they had to place objects they chose in the grave. Christine’s son Paedon Brown was the first to approach and chose to place their military tags in the grave. “I have yours, you have mine,” Padeon, 26, told the group and later told the cameras how it “felt really, really right.”

“He was my Arch Nemesis and my best friend and blood brother,” he continued. “… Garrison was my first greeting as a client, and it was my hat that I got my first greeting from Garrison in.”

Hunter then placed the hat in the grave. Other placed dirt over it, and Kody later revealed to the cameras that some family members even “brought special tokens” that hold great “meaning”, which was laid next to Garrison.

“He’s finally here. He’s finally at rest,” Janelle told the cameras. “It’s done. This part of the trip is complete.”
