For many women in the 20th and 30s, the social pressure to follow a specific timeline can be overwhelming, whether related to marriage, children or career miles. The feeling that time is over can be suffocating and all -encompassing.
A mother recently went viral on Tiktok for her advice on life and led to an online conversation that resonated deeply with women feeling unsure of their next step.
In the video, Libby Greenstone, 70, stated that “there is no in a hurry”, calming viewers that it is not “late” to be in the 30s, but rather a beautiful and transformative time in life.
Greenstone had her first child at the age of 37 and her second at 42. She insisted on having children later gave her time to “live a lot of life”, and offered her stability and maturity when it was time to start her family.
“I think that when you have children in the 30s, you spend a little time on yourself and your spouse or partner, and you are ready to share your knowledge, your love, your energy and your joy in living a beautiful life,” Greenstone says exclusively. “Sure in the 20th century you can do the same, but for me I simply think I was better established in my career and really, really ready.”
In the video, Greenstone emphasized that raising children is not a victim of energy but rather an investment in some deep fulfillment.
“I am a high -energy person to begin with. I was raised in a household where the family was everything,” she explains. “It was always about us as a child, when it comes to my mom and dad. To be raised with that philosophy and the way of thinking made it very easy for me to have energy, passion, joy, tension in every step with my children.”
This way of thinking helped her navigate in the late nights, fatigue and challenges of balance work and family life.

Despite the significant age gap between her and her daughters, Jolie and Katie Greenstone, she is proud of the strong band they share – a relationship that is anchored in quality time.
“We always played together from the girls were little. I was in the sandbox with them, so to speak,” the mother tells two. “We did everything together on the weekends, whether it was gardening or shopping or went out to brunch or work out together … we did it together.”
This deep connection continued as the girls got older, and even now, as adults, they still have time to care for their relationship with their mother. “Consequently, we like to do the same things in later stages in life, and we like each other so much that it is just a natural fit,” adds Libby.
Her daughter Katie, now 28, was moved by her mother’s advice, especially when she navigates in her own timeline.
“It’s cool to have these conversations when I round out the 20th century really felt at the right time,” Katie tells People. “Once I realized that the knowledge she lost to me felt important to others to hear, which can be in the same boat as I am – 28, not married, no children. It is like a wave of relief to know that she had just met my dad then, and she showed up with this beautiful life even though he did not get an early start in the way the community’s pressure tends to try.”
Video’s impact felt far beyond their immediate circle and Katie was surprised by the answers online, especially from women who found comfort in her mother’s perspective.

“It showed that there is a large hole in our daily rhetoric like women, where this type of dialogue not only opens the conversation, but fills it in a way my mother did, and a way we needed … with words of comfort,” Katie adds.
“Beyond that, just so wild how many who shared the experience of having children in the late 30s and 40s, and how many women in the 20th century, who read the comments, did not even realize that it was in their opportunity because of the wrong conversation that our” watch “attaches to our early 30s.”
For those who feel behind, the video gave a sense of insurance and offers a new story about the opportunities for life. Tiktok was more than just a conversation between a mother and daughter – it was a window into the pressure that women encounter and the freedom that comes with releasing timelines.
