What started as a regular visit to a shared love for dogs was transformed into one of the most scary crimes in recent memory.

Victoria Jo, the premature child, survived the attack and reunited with her father, Zeb Stinnett, at the hospital, according to the outlet. Montgomery was arrested at the scene – but she claimed that the child was her own.

But she later admitted that she murdered Stinnett and abducted the child.

Montgomery got married at that time and reportedly convinced her husband, Kevin Montgomery, that she was pregnant and had born, according to Topeka Capital-Journal.

“I kept that child proudly,” he said, according to the outlet.

2007 was Montgomery Sentenced by a jury of federal kidnappings resulting in death. Prosecutors said that Montgomery’s motive was to use the child as a way to get custody of two of her four children before her husband was told that she was lying, the AP reported.

The juror unanimously recommended a death penalty, which the court introduced. She was originally planned to be executed in December 2020.

According to CNNA federal judge granted Montgomery a executive stay and pointed to the need to decide whether she was too mentally ill to be executed, which would have made her unjustified for the death penalty or not.

But the Supreme Court denied the court decision and the request to President Donald Trump from the family, supporters and her lawyer failed. Before this, federal executions had been at a break for 17 years.

Kelley Henry, Montgomery’s lawyer, blamed the Trump administration’s “blood -looked” for her execution, the AP reported.

Montgomery was finally implemented by fatal injection on January 13, 2021 at the federal prison complex in Terre Haute, Ind., Per AP. She was 52.

Montgomery became the first woman since 1953 to be executed by the federal government. The woman who was executed in 1953 was Bonnie Brown Heady, who kidnapped and murdered a young boy in Missouri, the AP reported.
