Former Texas Rep. Maya Flores posted hours after launching the 2026 campaign



Hours after former US rep. Maya Flores announced plans to drive to Congress again in 2026, her campaign said she was hospitalized for a “sudden horror” and is recovering now.

“During this challenging time we humbly ask for your prayers and support,” wrote Texas Republican’s campaign on X Tuesday, April 15th. “We pray that Mayr will return stronger than ever, ready to continue their unmatched commitment to serve our country.”

That evening, the campaign shared another update, where they said Flores was “completely recovery and felt stronger than ever.”

“Earlier today, Mara Flores met a sudden horror, but thanks to the incredible care she received and the support from her loved ones, she is now completely recovering and feels stronger than ever,” the update read. “While taking time to recover, her passion for earning TX-28 has not slowed down a bit. Mayra will soon be back on the campaign track-string than ever and ready to fight for the people in South Texas.”

When Flore’s campaign was provided further comments on Wednesday provided the same update to people.

Flores, 39, became the first Mexican -born congress woman who served in the American house when she won a special election in 2022 to represent Texas 34th congress district. She lost her bid for a whole term during elections in November 2022 and ran without success again in 2024.

Earlier on Tuesday, Flores Launched Her 2026 campaign for Texas 28th district. She hopes to be able to lower long -term democratic ropes. Henry Cuellar, who has represented the district since 2005.
