Ilona Maher hangs up their ballroom shoes.
The Olympic Rugby player Wowed Nation with his movements along with partner Alan Berten on Dance with the stars Season 33 and kept the tour until it was wrapped on April 5.
In an exclusive interview with People, host for Maher Podcast, as well have her sisters Olivia and Adrianna MaherOpened up about “Virvelvind of a time” which she had at ABC’s Hit Reality show and the difficult choice she made after continuing her dance trip on tour.
“It was a tough decision at its best,” jokes the Olympic joking about their decision to go away from the Balls Hall for good Instagram that she officially retired from dance.

“After careful consideration, I have decided to retire from dance,” she said in the clip that was uploaded on April 6. “I’m a fresh old dancer. You all know this. Um, never said was good, but I’m a professional. I think I have to hang my dance shoes.”
Dance with the stars Live ran about three months, started on January 7 and ended on April 5. It came on the heel of a ten -week season, which stretched from September 17 to November 26, 2024.
Maher, that went to DWT Finale with blastMade his decision to go away from the dance clearly in his tongue-in-Kind message on Instagram.
“You know, if I never have to learn a step again, I think I will be happy. I think I will do it,” the athlete added. “So I just wanted you all to hear this from me.”

Maher concluded, “You know, I don’t know what the tabloids will say tomorrow. But this is my decision. It was hard to do because I was, like, kind of up there with the best in the world, I would say right now. But this is for me and I thanks Everything to support it. ”
Elsewhere in her interview with People, Maher reflected on her journey on the reality show and what she learned about herself throughout the competition.
“Well, I’ve learned that dance is very difficult and that may not be what gives me so much joy, but I love to look at it,” says Maher. “I love going on tour and watching them all dance, how amazing they are – but I think it’s just so interesting how we all find joy in different things.”

“I find joy on the rugby tone, while Alan thinks it dances and is graceful in the ballroom,” she continues. “I think it learned that it is okay to not be the best at everything, but it is also good to try things to see what you like to test your body.”
