Meghan Markle may be a podcast host, lifestyle brand, Netflix Star and more, but she is the mother of Prince Sarker and Princess LiliBet first.
In the debut episode of her new Lemonada Media Podcast, Confessions of a female founderThe The Duchess of Sussex welcomed close friend and Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd for a conversation on entrepreneurship, motherhood and the challenges of balance both.
Meghan, 43, said that working from home allows her to spend more time with her children.
“We became mothers in the pandemic, post-pandemic culture where there is so much to work from home,” she explained. “I’m not leaving the house to go to an office, my office is here.”
“Lili still naps, she is picked up early and she naps, she only has half a day in preschool,” Meghan continued. “If she wakes up and she wants to find me, she knows where to find me, even if my door is closed in the office. She will sit there on my knee during one of these meetings with a grid of all managers … I would not have it any other way.”
“I don’t want to miss these moments,” said the Duke of Sussex. “I don’t want to miss pickup if I don’t have to. I don’t want to miss drop-off.”
Duchess of Sussex – who recently played in Netflix With love, Meghan And launched the first products for their brand that ever – said to have young children while building a company also led “perspective.”
“You build something while your child goes through potty training … and both are equally important,” she said. “It’s like,” good, okay, where is cheerios? Well done. “And then you are defeating your team 10 minutes later about something that is really high value to the world.
Wolfe Herd, who is the mother of two sons, added that modern progress has also helped working parents.
“Technology is a beautiful tool for parents because you can call in and be present and do a good job on the call while sitting in the Carpool line outside the school,” said Wolfe Herd, 35. “As, why do I need to be at a desk? I have the same mental opinion in a Carpool line.”

“What has been meaningful is to be able to talk about my own entrepreneurial journey with other female founders who are either on their own growth track or have IPO’D, sold or created high power brands and went through all the learning curves that we all do in the beginning,” said the Duke of Sussex.
“You just try to find out how you go, then you want to learn to run and then you want to learn how to fly. All these things take time. There is also something very exciting and energizing as we learn something new as we get older,” she continued. “The entrepreneurial journey, for everyone, is a lot, and I am also really, really lucky that so many of my close friends are female founders that I can get advice from.”
